The trial class
Cap a paid class at a number of free lessons and the count runs off attendance itself rather than a date. Present and late count against it; absent and excused do not — so a student who missed a week has not quietly burned their trial. Everyone sees the same thing: “Trial · 1/2 lessons” on the roster, on the student’s own page, and live on the instructor’s attendance sheet as they mark it.
Waivers before mat time
Build the liability waiver once with real signature and consent fields, then assign it with a due date. Pending recipients can be reminded in a click, and the whole set exports to CSV when your insurer asks. Nobody has to find the binder.
Tuition, and the family rate
Monthly memberships and class fees collect through Stripe on their own. A second child in the family gets a per-student discount — a percentage or a flat amount, your call — and cash or a check at the front desk gets recorded against the same ledger instead of living in a separate notebook.
Rank
Create a track called Belt Rank, add your belts in order, and drag them into the right sequence. Instructors promote students from their own screen, and the family gets a notification the same evening — which is usually the first time a parent hears their kid moved up without having to ask.
Testing and tournaments
Belt tests, in-house tournaments, and seminars run as events with RSVPs, paid registration, automatic reminders, and a calendar file families can actually add. Volunteer sign-up slots are part of it, because somebody has to work the door and the scoring table.
When someone gets hurt
Put a membership on hold rather than cancelling it. A paused membership still counts as a member, so the student keeps their enrollment and walks back into the same class when the shoulder heals — instead of being re-enrolled from scratch at the bottom of a waitlist.

Attendance reports
See who has stopped showing up while there is still time to call them. Attendance rates per class and per student, which is the number that predicts a cancellation weeks ahead.
